Highlights of this extraordinary adventure include three nights in the Selous Game Reserve- the largest reserve in Africa - and a stay at the luxury Serena Mivumo Lodge overlooking Steiglers Gorge, with game activities during the day including sundowners along the mighty Ruaha and Rufiji Rivers- where explorer’s caravans were likely to have once camped for the evening.
Later, guests will fly to the island of Zanzibar- famed for its historic stone town and spices. The former seat of the Oman Sultanate, today this island is a thriving hub for beach-goers and historians. Stay at the Serena Inn located in the historic area and close to the windy streets of the bazaars and peddlers. The hotel was a former palace and still has features of ornate details and Arabic motifs. Walk the streets of Zanzibar with a local guide and learn the stories of yesteryear and sample the many delicious cuisines that are a confluence of Arab, India, Chinese, Swahili and European influences.
