THE WAYFARERS PASS ALONG BENEFITS OF A STRONGER DOLLAR WITH ATTRACTIVE PRICE ADJUSTMENTS ON UK AND EUROPEAN WALKS
Award-winning walking tour company, The Wayfarers, is making the most of market swing by adjusting prices for its 2009 walking vacations in the United Kingdom and Europe, reflecting the newly increased buying power of the U.S. dollar.
The company is passing along to travelers the benefits of a stronger dollar, now holding its own against the euro and the pound sterling. These attractive new rates represent savings of US$400 per person or $800 per couple. Additionally, the company has leveraged the dollar’s current strength to secure hotel upgrades on some trips, while at the same time maintaining the reduced prices.
The value-added prices are offered to all travelers from the U.S. and Canada who secure reservations in U.S. dollars, with payment in full due by March 31, 2009. The new prices are also being extended to clients holding reservations made previously and paid in USD. The early full payment enables The Wayfarers to purchase the appropriate currency and take immediate advantage of the stronger dollar before any new market swings can occur.
The Wayfarers’ 2009 schedule features 83 diverse Walks through 17 countries. In Europe, these include England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Austria, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Greece. European highlights this year include:
- nine-day Greece Walk: Sparta & the Peloponnese, led by co-founder Christopher Hague
- Brontë Trail, a six-day exploration of one of England’s most evocative literary landscapes;
- Venice & The Veneto, a seven-day study of Venice and its region, inspired by the architect Palladio.
The 2009 schedule also features two women-only Walks in England and Italy, plus established favorites like The Creeks and Coves of Cornwall; Austria: Innsbruck to Salzburg; The Loire - River of Kings; and Tuscany & Umbria.
