One-Week Florence/Tuscany Package for Only $979 in April and May

TourCrafters, the Italy experts, are offering a mid-week “Florence and the Heart of Tuscany” package from April 1 to May 15 that costs only $979 for round-trip air on Delta from New York, Boston and Chicago; seven nights accommodation, a four-day car rental, daily buffet breakfast, hotel service charges and taxes. The package includes three nights at the 4-star Hotel Roma in an 18th-century palazzo overlooking the Piazza Santa Maria Novella in Florence, the celebrated art center of Italy. Here it is possible to visit the famous Cathedral, Baptistery, Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery, and shop for shoes, gloves and little gifts in the boutiques of the Via Tornabuoni and the less-expensive stalls of the Mercato Nuovo.
Then it’s on to the heart of Tuscany in a rental car, through the green hills and vineyards of Chianti. Four nights at the charming B&B, Canonica di Fungaia, near the beautiful medieval city of Siena, allows time for exploring Siena, the walled village of Monteriggioni, the Etruscan town of Volterra and the picturesque wine towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino, with a visit to the Castello Banfi winery.
The package can be extended to eight nights with different hotels for an additional sum. And air fare add-ons are available from Washington ($20), Philadelphia ($99), Charlotte ($65), Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco ($240). All prices quoted are per person, double occupancy, are subject to availability and do not include airport taxes of $100 or fuel surcharges of $210. Reservations must be paid for within 72 hours of booking.
