AirTran Airways announced today a sale for travel with fares starting as low as $39*. Travelers may purchase these sale fares at http://www.airtran.com/ or via AirTran Airways’ reservations system at 1-800-AIR-TRAN. For Spanish, call 1-877-581-9842.

These special fares are available for purchase through December 11, 2008, and are good for travel through March 11, 2009. The lowest sale fares are valid for travel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Additional sale fares are valid for travel on Monday, Thursday and Friday. Like all AirTran Airways fares, prices included in this sale are available for one-way travel and do not require a roundtrip purchase or an overnight stay.

*All fares are one-way. All fares are non-refundable and a $75 fee per person applies to any change made after purchase, plus any applicable increase in airfare. Any person traveling on or after December 5, 2008, will be charged a fee of up to $15 for the first checked bag. A second bag may be checked for a fee of up to $25 per person. Reservations may be obtained or changed through an AirTran Airways Telephone Reservations Center for an additional $15 per person. Lowest sale fares are valid for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Additional sale fares are valid for travel on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Tickets must be purchased by December 11, 2008, and require a 10 day advance purchase. Sale fares are valid for travel through March 11, 2009. Blackout dates are as follows: December 20,22,23,24,26,27,28, 2008; January 3,4, February 13,14,16,20,21,22, 2009. Travel is not valid to Baltimore or Washington DC January 17-20, 2009 or from Baltimore or Washington DC January 20-22, 2009. Fares, routes, and schedules are subject to change without notice. Service to San Diego ends January 5th. Fares do not include per-segment tax of $3.50. A segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 is not included. Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 are not included.
